Thanks so much for becoming one of my very first friends on vancouver.ourfaves.com . . . we live in Austin but our second home is Vancouver and we hope to start a social network for Austin like you've done with ourfaves for Toronto and Vancouver. Monday, I'm going to call Candice to see if we can partner in this effort. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you! If you're on twitter please add me, I'm springnet there. Paul

Re: Fave place for a haircut at The Curly Hair Ins

I'm heard great things about the curly hair institute and am thinking of getting an appointment next week. Is there a stylist you can recommend? What is the price range for a cut and dry?

I've just joined. You were the first guy who caught my eye. Can we be friend? What I want to ask you was: do you know where I could buy Biotta vegetable juice mix?

"The Fresser" is the way to go on this one. It's stacked high and chock full of flavor. This gargantuan sandwich can be sliced lean, medium, or fatty, to your liking. Add a touch of spicy brown mustard to it and you've got a masterpiece!

It's authentic. It's juicy. It's delicious. Did I mention it's a damn good sandwich?

Lula Lounge & Restaurant

It's hip. The menu is awesome. The entertainment rocks. For example: this week they had a Tribute to Patsy Cine with 15 or so different artists offering their renditions of her music. Totally enjoyable!

It's summer and strawberries are in full season! What could be more refreshing at a picnic or backyard BBQ than a sweet & light dessert like this. It's super simple and even more delicious. Check it out!

They have a regular weekday menu you can count on for hot ready foods. Their bakery selection is great and the quality seems quite consistent.

Costco Wholesale

If for nothing more than a Sunday outing, I love Costco. Their meat is outstanding and the sample ladies make it fun. I love trying new products. Most of all I love Costco's customer service. If you're not happy with a product...it's a no questions asked situation. They take it back and refund your money. From my experience here in Toronto this is very unlike other Canadian vendors who once they get hold of your cash will do anything not to give it back.

Rocco, the owner/mechanic is a really nice guy. Straight up and honest. Good service, good work, and in the hood! (That's a pun in case you didn't notice.)

The Butter Chicken is almost as good as my own making this one of my local favs. Also the restaurant is within walking distance to where I live and that's a plus for me. I can burn a calorie or two on my way there and again on my way home after I've stuffed myself silly! Love it!
