Great Monday night stand-up from Toronto's best.

Great accoustics and layout. Not too big, not too small.

Carson is an excellent host. The song selection is great, and most of the people there can actually sing.

the food is great, they have great beer on tap, and everyone is pretty relaxed about the pool tables...

They make them the best here. The perfect amount of breadedness, not chewy, great dipping sauce. Always perfect!

who doesn't love great Canadian stand-up comedy in a fun venue?

it's a great way to start off the week with a week's full of laughs. Always a funny show, and a beer! Always a fun thing to do.

They make the BEST Pad Thai! Served in giant bowls with lots of fresh ingredients. In the summer, the patio lets you enjoy all the sights and sound of Queen St and in the winter, the cozy booths are perfect after a morning of shopping and before exploring the rest of Queen St.

Mondays and Tuesdays, have free/pwyc comedy- stand-up and sketch respectively... at least a good portion of the acts in a given night are guaranteed be a total riot. Of course its hit and miss, but with some hits and the right price, this is really a pretty great way to have a fun night out.

not only is the Riv a cool bar, complete with regular live events, pool tables, and a good feel even when it's just you, your drinks, your friends and the stereo - not only is it cool just like that, but the food is actually good too. It's kind of a combo of pan-Asian (isn't everywhere these days?) and creative pub grub, with lots of creative snacky nibbles. Definitely a step above the usual bar eats.
