the owner bakes it himself, it tasted like it just came out of the oven, it was crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. They make a great homemade oatmeal cookie as well.
I could feast on the baguette for days on end at my favourite french bistro but since I can't get them for snacking on at home, Pain Perdu does a fantastic version. Great crunchy crust with a nice airy and chewy inside that has a touch of sweet and salty with a little butter in the mix. I nearly eat half of it on the way home.
It's got a great texture and is made with fine, wholesome ingredients in a tried and true artisanal manner. There's a nice balance between crunchiness, chewiness and softness. If you can't trek uptown for your fresh baguette, hit your closest Fresh & Wild and let the (dinner) party begin!
