I like to write and drink coffee in the upper loft area in the Distillery District location. I’ve finished two novels there.
hands down.. most affordable and consistent tasting coffee.. starts my workdays.. everyday
Comfortable seats and great Noisette...
Fair trade, organic, freshly roasted. What's not to love?

they always get it right - triple triple w/ cream! mmmm and their new strawberry delight donut makes my mouth water just thinking about it

I like Starbucks cuz they are everywhere and and I like the ability to get the same thing wherever I go...
They can really roast coffee and sold to North 44 and places like that. You have to be good to sell to them
they have perfected the Americano and spoiled me from enjoying most other coffees.
Sweet little place with free wireless but more importantly, divine coffee and banana hot-chocolate in the cold months. Just east of Dufferin on College (don't blink, might miss it on south side). Cool owner, great music, minimalist/shabby chic decor, communal atmosphere. Might end up sharing a table. It's a perfect spot to go after hanging out with your urchins at Dufferin Grove or for an intimate meeting with a fellow arts group members. (After which you can wander just east to Marquee Video.)
the vibe is oh so sweet seventies/ikea/friendly/cool graphics/tight squeeze/fresh-baked
and the coffee (espresso, for me) is fresh, free trade, dark, never burned, never bitter, always divine, and with a stupendously perfect crema.
Plus they make their own yummy scones, killer pain au chocolate... and the line moves FAST but you can hang out in the window seats. My kids love it, too.
